2015     Trans + history: Spanish Dialogues

The name of the project of the year 2015 is a poetic description of the artistic situation, what we call the “Trans”. It is transcendence, translation, transformation. The word “history” has many meanings. At the same time it can be a documentary description and a fictional story. It is a reconstruction of the past.

Trans + history is a multifaceted theme, where artists use either documentary narration, or a specific fantasy creation. Artists try to touch the authenticity of existence, emphasize the important memories of their lives, actions that became the basis of their work and are directed towards the future, in a sense.

This project aims to convey the creative imagination of Spanish artists, evaluate how the painting reflects the past and present events in the creative process directed to the future.

Artists Marcos Amorós and Patricia Gómez showed their ability to find the perfect expression of individual characters, along with textile collages and a Flamenco series of quick drawings created by Silvia Viñao. Based on the concept of portraiture, artists are looking for new ways to convey their vision of identity. They are portraits, new creative models, where the values of the past, existential questions, cosmovision remain completely open, going beyond the feeling of sentimentality.
